Meridy's Quilts

So do you remember in my "About Me" I mentioned my sister who makes amazing quilts. Meridy is so talented and I love to see what she will create next. I was able to spend Christmas with her and her cute family this year and I opened this present. I LOVE IT! I am going to call it my "Flower Power" quilt. I now need to change my room so it can find a place on my bed. It has so many colors, that I love, in it so it shouldn't be too hard. I didn't pick out this material, but I would have! She still has the packet that I bought, but I really do need to help her with that one. Plus, I think I only get one freebee! Here is the quilt she made for me last year. I call it my "Citrus Delight" quilt. Isn't it delicious?

Basement Christmas Decor

So I am living in the basment of my best friends parents home. We have taken over completely downstairs. This year we decided to put Christmas up down here so we could enjoy it. I have to say we could go upstairs, but it is WAY too hot. Also Christmas "threw up" up stairs, you can't move an inch without running into a tree, stuffed animal, doll, poinsetta, or some other christmas decoration. It is fun, but I try and stay simple. This year I painted the "JOY" and I made the "believe" banner for the wall or mantle. . .no mantle downstairs so it made the wall. I had a lot of fun making that, I had it ready by Thanksgiving so I took it to dinner with me and all my sisters asked where theirs was. Ummm, don't they know it takes 10 hrs. to get one scrap book page done (but it is a GREAT page). Hello! That would have taken a lifetime. It was fun and I have some ideas for next year. . .so I might as well start now. I love putting it up, but I hate taking it down. 2009 went way too fast and I dislike knowing that it is over, but I do get to start over. Just wait for the New Years resolutions.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and I wish everyone a bright and cheery New Years.
